Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Welcome to our FAQ section! Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our 3D-printed molds, how to use them effectively, and helpful information about orders and shipping.

What materials can I use with these molds?

Our molds are compatible with a wide range of casting materials. We recommend using construction grout for the best results, as it offers excellent strength, durability, and smooth flowability—allowing the mixture to fill every detail and corner of your mold with ease.

You can also experiment with:

  • Cement or ordinary Portland cement (may be prone to cracking if not mixed properly)
  • Plaster of Paris
  • Cement-All
  • Other cementitious or plaster-based mixtures

We encourage trying different mixtures to discover unique textures, finishes, and casting effects for your projects

How long does it take for a pot to cure inside the mold?

Curing time depends on the mixture you use, the thickness of
your pot, and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

On average:

  • Construction grout or cement mixtures: 24–72 hours
  • Plaster of Paris: Typically faster, often within 24 hours

For best results, allow the mixture to cure fully before removing the mold to avoid cracks or breakage.

Do I need to use a mold release agent?

Using a mold release spray or mold release agent is recommended. Used engine oil works well as a mold release agent. Light cooking oil also recommended. Using any kind of mold release agent helps prevent sticking, makes demolding easier, and extends the lifespan of your mold.

Can the molds be dipped in water?

Yes, the molds are made of flexible TPU material, which is water-resistant and safe to clean with water. However, please avoid immersing the mold in water immediately after pouring wet cement, as this may weaken the curing process inside the mold. It’s best to let the mixture set before rinsing or soaking.

How should I clean and store my molds?
  • Rinse the mold with mild soap and water after each use.
  • Avoid using sharp tools or abrasive brushes, as they can damage the surface.
  • Store molds in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent wear and deformation

What should I do if my mold arrives damaged?

✨ Tips for Best Results
  • Always apply a light mold release spray or oil to make demolding easier.
  • Clean your mold gently after each use to extend its life.
  • Allow enough curing time before removing your pot.
  • Store molds away from direct sunlight to prevent deformation.
